Colmello Di Grotta Tfvg 81532

The Colmello di Grotta company owns 21 hectares, of which 15 are planted with vines. The vineyards are almost 40 years old and are exposed to the south at an altitude between 40 and 80 metres. Developed as a single body, the estate’s vineyards are distributed in the same area between the Protected Denomination of Origin Collio and Isonzo del Friuli areas. Places that, although close to each other, feature land with entirely different connotations. This dual personality is perhaps the brand's main feature: it manages to come up with fascinating and feminine wines - typical of the Protected Denomination of Origin Isonzo area - on the one hand, and with powerful masculine wines on the other. In addition to the native Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, the company cultivates the international grape varieties Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Merlot, not modern but historical clones, imported from France in the early 1960s. Colmello di Grotta white wines are not refined in barrels, but only in steel and state of the art amphorae, of Italian design and manufacture. Characterised by freshness, great minerality and marked acidity, Colmello di Grotta wines are understood and drunk in an instant. The company is in the process of converting to organic farming
