Opera Arias From 18th Century Gorizia Salons

Opera Arias From 18th Century Gorizia Salons

Presentation of opera arias from 18th century Gorizia salons, performed by Helena Bregar.

The Gorizia archives hold many manuscripts of Italian opera arias from the mid-18th century. The pieces came to Gorizia after opera productions in Graz or Venice, and were performed in the local salons by chamber ensembles with three or four strings and a harpsichord. The musica cubicularis ensemble with soprano Helena Bregar will perform them for the first time in modern times. The composers include Pergolesi, Hasse and Leonardo Leo.

Participants: Helena Bregar, soprano, and the ensemble Musica Cubicularis.

The event is part of the EPISKOP project, which is part of the official GO! 2025 programme.
