Vivien Roussel: Bio Leather in the Kitchen

Vivien Roussel: La pelle bio in cucina

We will learn more about bacterial cellulose from the kombucha family from the scientific and design side.

At the workshop, on 13 March at 17:00, we will explore how the bacterial cellulose from the kombucha family is used in design and what is its industrial use, as well as how it works and grows. The workshop is intended for practitioners and designers who want to learn more about bacterial cellulose, as well as amateurs who want to start growing their culture at home.

Vivien Roussel is an artist, researcher and maker who explores the intersection of (bio)technology, speculative design and ecological innovation. His work redefines design and materiality through biofabrication and DIY methods, creating biohybrid artifacts that reflect the interconnectedness of living and technical systems.

The workshop will be held in English.

Registration is required at vita.matjac@kersnikova.org, Production and Support: Kersnikova, Xcenter, European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia.
