Mušič Room

From 8 February 2025 until the end of the year, the Soba Mušič exhibition will be on display at Xcenter.

The Mušič Room at the Xcenter in Nova Gorica is a digital tribute to the Slovenian painter, printmaker and draughtsman Zoran Mušič, whose art has made him one of the most important artists of the 20th century. We are honouring this great painter through hologram visualisation and digital presentation, which introduce the visitor to his artistic world, and invite them to exhibitions of his works, which will open in 2025 at Štanjel Castle, Dobrovo Castle and Attems Palace in Gorizia. On the Slovenian side, the project is supervised by the curator Dr Nelida Nemec, an expert on the artist, the "silent recluse", born in Bukovica in the present-day Municipality of Renče - Vogrsko, but otherwise a man of several homelands, deeply marked by his experience in the Dachau Concentration Camp.

"I have not been able to grow roots anywhere." (Zoran Mušič)

The Mušič Room is designed for Xcenter visitors who are discovering the European Capital of Culture programme and for those seeking a digital introduction to exhibitions at other locations.
