Exhibition of the Hit Collection of Prints by Primorska artists

From 5 February 2025, Park Hotel in Nova Gorica will host an exhibition of the Hit Collection of graphics by artists from Primorska region.

From Wednesday, 5 February, Hit's Park Hotel will host an exhibition of 118 graphics created in the period 1951–1989 by 22 of the most important graphic artists from Primorska and the surrounding area, whose works shaped the image of modern art in our region. By organising an exhibition of artworks from its collection, Hit is making an important contribution to the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia project by emphasising the importance of cross-border collaboration and thus fulfilling its role as a socially responsible partner in its environment.

The conception, curation and installation in the premises of the Park Hotel was made by the painter Nataša Gregorič Nabhas, who accompanied the exhibition with the following description: "The selection of prints placed on the walls of the hotel corridors is exceptional, as it represents 22 artists working in the territory of Primorska. There are 118 sheets of traditional prints in drypoint, etching, aquatint, lithography, linocut, woodcut, serigraphy—silkscreen, monotype, as well as mixed media... The collection is made up exclusively of prints by artists from the Primorska region, presented in the chronological order in which they were created, from 1951 to 1989. All the remaining graphic works, approximately 72, either duplicated or by other Slovene artists, are placed in the hotel rooms of the Park Hotel. Without exception, these are internationally renowned artists of all generations and styles."

The works on display were produced by: Avgust Černigoj (1898–1985), Lojze Spacal (1907–2000), Riko Debenjak (1908–1987), Bogdan Grom (1918–2013), Vladimir Makuc (1925–2016), Miloš Volarič (1933–2010), Danilo Jejčič (1933), Pavel Medvešček (1933–2020), Zvest Apollonio (1935–2009), Rudi Pergar (1936), Nedeljko Pečanac (1938), Jože Spacal (1939–2020), Klavdij Palčič (1940–2021), Franko Vecchiet (1941), Franc Golob (1941), Boris Zulian (1944–2013), Marjan Kravos (1948), Negovan Nemec (1947–1987), Lucijan Bratuš (1949), Janez Matelič (1950), Klavdij Tutta (1958) and Zmago Posega (1959–2009).
