Coffee Matinee: Miljenko Jergović

Coffee Matinee: Miljenko Jergović

This year's first Coffee Matinee will feature one of the most important writers of our time from the wider region—Miljenko Jergović.

The talk will take place on Friday, 7 March, at 11:00 in the Knjigarna kavarna Maks.

Miljenko Jergović is a Bosnian-Croatian writer, an erudite, alert observer of modernity and chronicler. In addition to numerous books, including works that have been translated into Slovenian (Rodbina, Oče, Dvorci iz orehovine, Sarajevski Marlboro, Zgodovinska čitanka...), he is the author of many short stories and writings, which he publishes almost daily on his website. Jergović is one of the most translated and recognised authors from the former Yugoslavia and the recipient of numerous international awards, including last year's Vilenica Prize.

Alina Carli will talk to the author.

The event is part of the Think Tank Train project implemented by the Association of Humanists of Goriška within the official programme of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia. The Cities of the Book programme is co-financed by the Slovenian Book Agency and the Municipality of Nova Gorica.
