15th International Design Competition Trieste Contemporanea

Seats of Understanding is the 15th International Design Competition organised by Trieste Contemporanea, a centre for research and dissemination of contemporary art in Central Eastern Europe. On 28 June 2024 the award ceremony for the winners of this renowned ideas competition founded by Gillo Dorfles in 1999 with the aim of showcasing the most original design projects produced by the countries of Central Eastern Europe will be held at Studio Tommaseo in Trieste. At the same time, the final exhibition of the competition with the finalist works selected by the jury and the winning projects will be opened. The competition is an initiative produced in tune with the project "GO! 2025 - Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025". The participants were asked to conceive an urban and potentially iconic object, an installation of seats, to be placed both in Nova Gorica and Gorizia and representing symbolic meanings related to the historical place of the two cities. The exhibition will be open until 31 July 2024. The exhibition catalogue will be published online.
