Dialogue of Nobel Laureates: Wisława Szymborska and Czesław Miłosz (Poetry Evening)

The event combines a presentation of both Nobel laureates' biographies and their relationship, as well as recitations of poems by Szymborska and Miłosz in Polish and in Slovene translations.

The event enables both Slovene and Polish audience to enjoy literature in their own languages. The program is enriched with biographical presentations and anecdotes about the poets' relationship, highlighting their creative dynamics, sense of humor, irony, and mutual respect. The event is accompanied by a mini-exhibition of Slovenian editions of translations of Polish Nobel laureates, as well as a presentation of the latest studies on Czesław Miłosz’s poetry, literary analyses of both laureates' works, and critical interpretations. The event aims to introduce Slovenian audiences to the works of these two Polish Nobel laureates and their relationship while promoting Polish literature and culture in Slovenia.
