Presentation of the AROUND project and Open-Call for artistic residency

An event open to the public to discover AROUND, the art project exploring the theme of borders through sound installations and video-art works geolocated along a phygital path.

On Saturday 15 March at 6.30 p.m., the spaces of Lino's & Co Udine, headquarters of the BUZZ Cultural Association, will host the presentation event of AROUND, an innovative artistic project that explores the concept of the border through sound installations and video-art works geolocated along a phygital path. An unmissable appointment to discover AROUND, the artistic project that crosses the border theme through sound installations and video-art works geolocated along a phygital path, usable 24 hours a day through personal devices.

During the evening the artistic residencies will be illustrated in detail, offering young artists under 35 the opportunity to create site-specific works on the occasion of GO! 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia, European Capital of Culture. The modalities of participation in the Open-Call, the calendar of events and the creative workshops open to the citizenship will also be presented.

The event will offer an overview of the workshop activities anticipating the realisation of artistic works, actively involving the public in the co-creation of content.

Workshop 1: Soundscape & Sound Recording An itinerant workshop that will lead participants through the sounds of the Kobarid landscape, recording and reworking sound fragments to build an immersive narrative. The route will wind its way through places with a strong historical and naturalistic impact, such as the Italian Ossuary, the Napoleon Bridge and the Kozjak Waterfall, guided by an expert in soundscapes and sound recording techniques.

Workshop 2: Video-Art Experiment A field experience exploring Monte San Michele and the Brestovec trenches, where participants will explore the narrative potential of video as a tool for remembering and interpreting the territory. Supported by video-art experts, they will experiment with filming techniques and visual composition, resulting in materials that can be used in the works of the artistic residency.

TRA - Human Border Vicissitudes | Performance-Laboratory To complete the programme, TRA will be presented, a theatrical story-workshop curated by Teatro della Sete, which explores the border through narration, memory and performative language. A participatory experience in which the public will be involved in a journey through stories and testimonies, discovering a border identity that is always in transformation.

During the event, the artistic residencies, the modalities of participation for young artists under 35, the creative workshops open to citizenship and the calendar of scheduled events will be presented.

An opportunity to get to know the AROUND team, interact with experts and artists and explore the link between art, territory and digital innovation.
