Tuesday Night at the Museum: Accessible Art
In anticipation of the opening of the exhibition The Art Beyond the Visible, Goriška muzej invites to a Tuesday night at the museum entitled Accessible Art.
On Tuesday, 21 January 2025, at 19:00, Kromberk Castle will host Tuesday night at the museum.
The grand opening of the Art Beyond the Visible exhibition project, which is part of the official programme of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia, is getting closer. The organisers want to involve the public in the whirlwind of preparations, as together with our partners we are not only working to ensure that vulnerable groups experience art in all its dimensions, but together we are building awareness of the importance of accessibility and promoting the development of sustainable solutions in this field.
The guests of Tuesday's meeting will tell us and show us how it is possible to develop appropriate approaches and expand the boundaries of understanding of art to include all visitors to museums and galleries:
- David Kožuh, Project Leader,
- Igor Miljavec, President of MDSS Nova Gorica,
- Peter Rot, tiflopedagogue,
- Damjan Komel, participating artist,
- Sabina Dermota, blind member of MDSS Nova Gorica.
Join us for a glimpse into the world of the blind, feel and touch the art through the copies of the sculptures, videos and photographic glimpses of the almost two-year process of creating the exhibition. We will toast the upcoming opening of the tactile gallery in the Mercator Centre in Kromberk with a special bottling of wine by Klet Brda.
