Valovila

On 11 January, at 16:30, a presentation of the Valovila land art object by Orjana Velikonja Grbac will take place in Prečno Park.

Part of the European Capital of Culture official programme, the object is the final part of the artist's trilogy, that created a distinctive event venue in the park. All three works include a persistent Robinia pseudo-acacia under the Long Live the Acacia motto. At the zenith of the previous parts, it was given the chance for another life. In Valovilla, it is folded into undulating palisades, which are primarily intended as amphitheatre seating, but can also be used as a stage, a resting place, a playground for children, or simply as a visual element to attract attention.

At the same time as the object presentation, the organiser will present the three people responsible for the projects that will take place in Pečno Park as part of the ECoC in 2025: Orjana Velikonja Grbac as the author of Valovila, Gregor Maver as the author of the In situ artistic intervention, who will also moderate the programme, and Mojca Madon, who will announce her performance with the working title Pekel (Hell) by improvising on the object. A publication showing the birth of Valovila will be presented at the event.
