10th Anniversary of SMO Museum

The SMO Museum (Slovensko multimedialno okno) celebrates its 10th anniversary!

The SMO Museum (Slovensko multimedialno okno) opened its doors in 2013 as part of the European project entitled JezikLingua, which aims to preserve and celebrate the rich cultural landscape on the border between Italy and Slovenia. The event will take place on 19 and 20 December 2024.

Thursday, 19 December 2024

On Thursday 19 December, the SMO Museum in San Pietro will host an event to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The honoured guest of the event is Matej Arčon, the Minister for Slovenians in Neighbouring Countries and Abroad. At 18:00,  journalist Lucija Tavčar and the museum's director Donatella Ruttar will hold a conversation entitled 10 + 1 = SMO. The evening will be closed with a concert by accordionist Aleksander Ipavec.

The cultural programme on Friday 20 December will start at 18.00 with the meeting Poetry is a Journey and a Piece of Bread with Maurizio Mattiuzza, moderated by Michele Obit. This will be followed by the presentation of the In memory of Valentin Stanič and his dedication to the 'neglected' publication and the Valentin Stanič, Ecologist of God documentary. Next, Sabrina Toniutti from the International Society for Zooanthropology and Paolo Comuzzi, director of the Cooperative Varianti, will speak. The evening will end with a concert by saxophonist Antonio della Marina and a multimedia environment that activates and transforms SMO, entitled Fades / Bledenja / Dissolvenze.
