EPIC, presentation of GO! 2025

Presentation of the EPIC project, an emerging cross-border participatory space for exchanging perspectives and understanding 20th century history, which will be launched next year.

The EPIC project, which will be launched in 2025, will be based on the presentation of the stories and memories of the people of Goriška. It will combine individual stories and collective interpretations, in which the fates of individuals are intertwined with new countries and new identities. Visitors will be introduced to the project and invited to participate in the creation of a joint exhibition. The project will be presented by Assist. Prof. Kaja Širok, an expert in history, museology and cultural heritage, who is also also curator of the GO! 2025 EPIC project (European Platform for 20th Century Interpretation).

EPIC will be a cross-border participatory space for exchanging views and understanding the history of the 20th century. The permanent exhibition will include personal stories and memories of Goriška inhabitants, shedding light on historical interpretations of the region. EPIC will promote dialogue on identity and common heritage, with local people actively participating in shaping its content. The platform will address historical and cultural challenges and promote cooperation and critical dialogue.
