We officially accepted the European Capital of Culture title.
On 22 November 2024, representatives of our ECoC travelled to Bad Ischl, Austria, to officially accept the European Capital of Culture title at the Lehár Theatre. This year's ECoCs, Bad Ischl Salzkammergut in Austria, Bodø in Norway and Tartu in Estonia, handed over the title to the future ECoC, German Chemnitz and our ECoC, Nova Gorica - Gorizia.
Since 1985, European Capitals of Culture have brought people, cities and countries together through arts and culture, representing Europe's diversity, democracy and building towards a common future. Chemnitz, Germany, will dedicate the next festive year to the region's cultural and industrial heritage, while in Nova Gorica and Gorizia we will GO! beyong borders and celebrate cross-border cooperation with the slogan GO! Borderless.
