GO! 2025 was invited by this unique city, famous for its history and architecture. The opening of Novi Sad 2022 was held yesterday, on Serbian’s new year. This first Serbian European capital of culture has turned its industrial complexes into galleries, art studios, and theatre stages and will have over 1,500 cultural events in 2022. With festivals, exhibitions, theatre plays and concerts, the city will address issues of European relevance, such as migration, peace, multiculturalism and the role of women in art and youth culture. Their programme theme is “New Bridges”: to further connect its inhabitants and the region's cultural community with the European Union and to reinforce their links with the rest of the Western Balkans area. The city joins Kaunas (Lithuania) and Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg) as the three selections for 2022.
