GO2GO – unified bike sharing stations for both Goricas

In December, a bicycle rental system will arrive in Nova Gorica and Šempeter, which will be compatible with the already existing system in Gorizia. On the Slovenian side, 37 bicycles will be available, of which 26 ordinary and 11 electric. The mayors of both Goricas decided that the name of the system should be chosen by the citizens. In August, we opened a cross-border competition on our platforms to choose the name of a new bicycle rental system. Žana Žanchy was the first to write down the name GO2GO (August 27, 10:30 PM, FB: GO! 2025) and convinced the cross-border commission with the good semantics of the name for the bike sharing system that is coming to both Goricas in December. The criteria for the name according to which the commission of both cities chose were: - cross-border name - internationally understood name - name associated with mobility or bicycles.   We congratulate the winner, who will receive a gift token worth of 250€ rides with the new bike sharing system, and thank all the participants from Slovenia and Italy for their ideas. Above all, we are impressed by the vast creativity of cross-border citizens (102 name proposals)!
