Matea Benedetti is a fashion designer and founder of the sustainable brand Benedetti Life, with which she will participate in the programme of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorica. Today she will speak about creative collaboration for a sustainable future at a symposium on arts and media in civil society being held at the Vatican. The symposium is organized by the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences and is accompanied by the photography exhibition "Emotions to Generate Change" by renowned writer, producer and artistic director Lia Beltrami, which features 25 stunning photographs by eight photographers from around the world that explore the role of women as role models of leadership in diverse communities. The exhibition will be on display in St. Peter's Square through the end of May 2023, and the World Women's Observatory and Handshake were also signed in collaboration with the Vatican's Dicastery for Communications. Through a photo exhibition and a series of exclusive events, opinion leaders from around the world will discuss the role of art, media and women leaders in expanding and creating new opportunities for collaboration and partnership for our common good. Matea Benedetti advocates for a so-called slow fashion that gives a voice to endangered species. She designs collections using sustainable textiles such as pineapple leather, vegetable silk, bamboo and organic cotton. Her vegan collections are inspired by animal species, and she uses only non-toxic and organic textiles that degrade in nature in less than five months and have minimal impact on soil and air. Next fall, as part of the Benedetti Life brand, she will present a new season dedicated to the white Bengal tiger. The presentation will take place in the showroom in Milan, but she also plans to participate in Milan Fashion Week next year with a fashion show. And when it comes to the future, Matea does not forget to say that she is planning a spectacular sustainable fashion event, Benedetti Life, for the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia, in which she also wants to involve other Slovenian companies with a similar vision of the planet.
