'Io non scendo': photographic exhibition
Visit the exhibition I Won't Come Down, with over 250 anonymous photographs portraying a series of women atop trees, in an interplay between photography, cinema, and literature.
From 18 May to 25 August 2024 At the Magazzino delle Idee gallery, a photographic exhibition brings together more than two hundred and fifty anonymous photos, dating from 1870 to 1970, depicting women in the treetops. Together with the images, fifteen stories interweaving photography, literature and film tell the liberating power of ascent. Among the protagonists are Louisa May Alcott, Simone de Beauvoir, Pippi Longstocking, Angela Carter, and the Trieste-based Bianca di Beaco and Tiziana Weiss, and Riccarda de Eccher from Udine.
