The entire cultural program of the European Capital of Culture at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris was created in cooperation with the Slovenian Ministry of Culture.
The Olympic Games are starting tomorrow in Paris, and on 8 August, we will join in with a cultural program. You will find us in the Slovenian House, where we will create new cultural connections with the help of MN Dance Company, project partners from the official programme of GO! 2025. They will perform together with the renowned French dancer B-Boy Junior, with whom they will prepare an electrifying performance, in which they will combine modern and street dance styles, and the evening will end in the rhythms of the Slovenian band Manouche.
We will also use this opportunity to forge ties between Nova Gorica and the French city of Saint-Denis. The two towns are historically connected through Charles X, the last French king, who is buried in the Kostanjevica monastery in Nova Gorica, while most of the French kings are buried in the cathedral in Saint-Denis. With the year 2025 in mind, an agreement will be signed between the Slovenian and French municipalities to emphasize their joint commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage. It will be signed by the mayor of the Municipality of Nova Gorica Samo Turel and the mayor of Saint-Denis Mathieu Hanotin.
Co-funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia
