As part of the intensification of preparations for the European Capital of Culture, the Programme Manager of GO! 2025, dr. Stojan Pelko, and his colleagues visited the mayors of the partner municipalities in Slovenia. The newly elected mayors in Kanal, Vipava and Tolmin expressed their full willingness to actively participate in the selected projects, while their experienced colleagues in Brda, Ajdovščina, Komen, Cerkno, Idrija, Renče-Vogrsko, Miren-Kostanjevica and Šempeter-Vrtojba presented new or renovated venues and pointed out the opportunities that some of them have yet to offer. By 2025, the ECoC content will surely shine in the Vipolže and Dobrovo manor houses in Brda, the Lantieri University Centre in Vipava, the Pilon Gallery in Ajdovščina extended with the “Rustjeva” House, the Štanjel Castle in Komen, and, with some joint efforts, in the “Jožefov jašek” mine in Idrija and the new cultural centre in Šempeter. The ECoC team will also visit Bovec and Kobarid next week, and in February, in cooperation with the EGTC, they are planning a similar "tour" of Italian municipalities, from Cividale to Aquileia.
