The call to participate in the Mediterranea 20 Young Artists Biennale from Europe and the Mediterranean
BJCEM, European Capital of Culture GO! 2025 and ŠKUC Association call for participation in the international multi-disciplinary event Mediterranea 20 – Young Artists Biennale from Europe and the Mediterranean, held from 31 May to 4 June 2024 in Nova Gorica and Gorizia.
The newly founded international team of the project, a part of GO! 2025 official programme, consists of two curators, Tia Čiček and Misal Adnan Yildiz, and the Biennale director Primož Nemec. The national curator of the event is ŠKUC, one of the most prominent non-governmental and non-profit organisations dealing with culture and art production in Slovenia.
The call is designed for all film and other makers, visual and other artists, writers, performers, musicians, designers, creative chefs and other artists, aged from 18 to 34. The call is open to all, you can apply until 31 October 2024 at 9 p.m. The chosen artists will display their works and performances as part of the Biennale.
Since 1985, the Biennale has been organised in the Mediterranean every two years, with a focus on young artists and creators. BJCEM is an international network of 50 international artists, and ŠKUC Association acts as its national coordinator for Slovenia. Its goal is to create new opportunities for young artists, support their creative processes and connect them with local and international communities in order to help them grow personally as well as professionally.
