On Wednesday, 18 December 2024, Barbara Pia Jenič's scientific monograph entitled Senzorialni jezik – organska potopitev v dogajanje was published.
Barbara Pia Jenič, director, producer and founder of the Sensorium Institute, presented her scientific monograph entitled Senzorialni jezik – organska potopitev v dogajanje (Sensorial Language - Organic Immersion in Action) at a press conference in the conference room of the Pedagogical Institute in Ljubljana.
Sensorial language is characterised by a unique approach to the audience - sensitive, sentient and alert. Interaction with it is stimulated organically, spontaneously, it does not expose the visitor to others. It has been tested in a variety of cultural and geographical contexts and in collaboration with many collaborators around the world. The development of sensory language in Slovenia has been gradual, slow but persistent. The introduction of sensory poetics into art and culture is an innovation that needs space, time and support to integrate and develop. Humans are rational, sensual and emotional beings. Sensorial language can offer organic modes of immersion that will be necessary to complement the digital, hologram, virtual and other simulated technological environments that the future will take us into.
The scientific monograph was presented by the author and Mojca Ramšak (UL Faculty of Arts, UL FKKT), Tomaž Gubenšek (UL AGRFT) and Stojan Pelko, Programme Director of GO! 2025, and the discussion was moderated by Igor Ž. Žagar.
The monograph was produced with the support of the European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia as part of the Artists Out of Residence project from the GO! 2025 official programme.
