From Reading Literacy to the Information Revolution

The panel will discuss the history of reading, print, literacy and the languages of education in the Gorizia Region.

They will highlight the influence of the bourgeoisie on reading culture and the involvement of the Gorizia Region in European currents of thought. They will also address the importance and positive effects of reading books in an era dominated by digital media.

Participants: Aleš Gabrič, historian (Institute of Contemporary History), Miha Kovač, editor and professor (Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana) in conversation with Petra Kolenc (ZRC SAZU).

The event is part of the EPISKOP project, which is part of the official GO! 2025 programme.
