42nd Idrija Lace Festival

There will be a number of exhibitions giving a glimpse into the world of Idrija lace, and Saturday's concert will feature performances by the big names of the Slovenian music scene.

The upcoming 42nd Idrija Lace Festival will captivate under the slogan “Pop-Up Lace” with the ambassadors of Idrija lace, the musical group Joker Out. With this exceptional event, this year the festival will focus on the diversity, uniqueness, and innovativeness of Idrija lace in space, time, and the universe.

The opening ceremony of the festival titled “White Dreams” will be dedicated to this broad spectrum of usability and excellence of Idrija lace. As every year, there will be numerous lace exhibitions and rich accompanying program aimed at all generations – creative workshops, craft and lace-making equipment fairs, group lace making, guided tours, theatrical performance Marina Melhiorca, dance performances, a wide range of catering options, and much more. On Saturday there will be a concert, where big names of the Slovenian music scene will perform. The heart of the festival remains the Sunday national lace-making competition for children and adults, followed by an afternoon of dance performances and folk music entertainment.
