ISOLABS - ::vtol:: AMSSUR

ISOLABS - ::vtol:: AMSSUR

A technological facility that collects data from the bottom of the Soča River and presents it to the public.

The main element of the research situation created by the Isolabs activity is a small technological facility, ::vtol:: AMS-1 (Autonomous Moving Stone), which mimics a larger stone, a rock designed to travel slowly or quickly along the river bed. The stone is interwoven with electronic sensors, cameras, microphones, a microcomputer and an energy system. The AMS-1 sinks to the bottom of the river, where it is almost completely filled with water, and then begins to record its path. The system is designed to rise to the surface after a long time and journey, using a special mechanism, where its journey ends. The AMS-1 is moved into the exhibition space and the recorded data is activated and presented by the SUR-1 (Special Unit of Representation). This is a small stand or control panel with a display and other systems for the presentation, analysis and transformation of telemetry. The project will continue in 2025 and 2026, collecting data in different parts of the Soca river basin.

Every few months, the project will be presented in the control room of the Plave hydroelectric power plant.
