The international scientific conference is coming to Nova Gorica from 10 to 12 October 2024.
This October, the University of Nova Gorica, the Research Centre for the Humanities and the School of Humanities are organising an international scientific conference entitled Avant-Garde and the End of the World.
The main topic of the conference is different ways of (co)creating a radical vision of the world. This project aims to create a platform for discussing the role of literature, art and activism in dealing with modern challenges, as well as to explore how avant-garde contributes to the understanding, shaping and alternation of the world in the context of apocalypse. This event marks the 100th anniversary of the first constructivist exhibition by the avant-gardist Avgust Černigoj.

The conference is connected with the GO! 2025 official programme through the experimental production of the Evacuation of the Spirit play directed by Aljoša Živadinov Zupančič, which displays fragments of Srecko Kosovel's diaries on the Mobil platform in the middle of Bevkov trg.
