GO! 2025 at the Olympics in Paris
A delegation of the EGTC GO, together with representatives of the public body GO! 2025 and the Municipality of Nova Gorica, will also be present at the Paris Olympics!
GO! 2025 will be present in House Slovenia on Thursday 8 August with a rich cultural and institutional programme, which has been realised in cooperation with the Slovenian Ministry of Culture.
The day will begin with two invitation-only events: the screening of the film Leon Štukelj From Paris to Paris and a conversation with the director of the Dolenjska Museum, Jasna Dokl Osolnik, and Veronika Stabej, ambassador of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. This will be followed by a round table discussion on the connections between culture, tourism and sport, in which the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Asta Vrečko, the Mayor of Nova Gorica Samo Turel, the Deputy Mayor of Saint-Denis Yannick Callet, and the Director of the public organisation GO! 2025 Mija Lorbek, who will moderate the meeting, will participate.
In the afternoon, an agreement between the municipalities of Saint-Denis and Nova Gorica will be signed in the town of Saint-Denis in the presence of the two mayors and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia. The two towns are historically linked to Charles X, the last French king, who is buried in the Castagnevizza Monastery in Nova Gorica, while most French kings are buried in the Saint-Denis cathedral. Ahead of 2025, an agreement will be signed between the Slovenian and French municipalities, emphasising their joint commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage. It will be signed by the mayor of Nova Gorica Samo Turel and the mayor of Saint-Denis Mathieu Hanotin.
In the evening, in the Slovene House at Park La Villette, with free admission, the cultural programme will continue with a dance performance by the MN Dance Company, a project partner of the official GO! 2025 programme. The evening will end to the rhythms of the Slovenian music group Manouche.
