Lecture and symposium by writer Miljenko Jergović.
On Thursday, 6 March 2025, a lecture and symposium will take place at the Xcenter and the Cultural Centre in Gorizia.
As the final act of the symposium accompanying the exhibition Distant Gaze: New Objectivity and Realisms in Central Europe (1925 –1933), the Vilenica 2024 laureate will reflect on a century-away era, disturbingly similar to ours. As a descendant of his grandfather from Tolmin, he will likely discuss the TIGR resistance movement at Kulturni dom Nova Gorica. Jergović will inaugurate the Festival of Complexity, through which GO! 2025 seeks to deepen the goals outlined in the Ljubljana Manifesto on Higher-Level Reading.
