Open Borders

An international scientific workshop will be held on cross-border interactions in the recent history of the Alpe-Adria region since World War II.
On 22 and 23 May 2025 the international academic workshop will explore cross-border interactions in the recent history of the Alpe-Adria region since World War II. Contributions will focus on the imagining of various spaces as sites of transborder encounters. Thematic panels will include local, regional and international initiatives, while commentators from different fields will offer insights from other comparable regions.
As part of the conference, the round table Does Europe Live at the Border? and the exhibition opening Never Mind the Borders: People, Spaces and Cross-Border Practices between the Alps and the Adriatic will also take place.
