European Capital of Culture 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia introduces its own board game!
The history of the cross-border environment is intertwined with a rich heritage of castles, mansions and villas that bear witness to the region's noble past. The board game Noble Wanderings is designed as a unique tourist souvenir that invites you to explore 12 selected castle attractions, including Gorizia Castle, Villa Vipolže, Kromberk Castle, Lanthieri Manor, Štanjel Castle and others. The game teaches about the history of these landmarks in a fun way and offers challenges in which players progress around the playing surface using figurines with the correct answers.
The beautifully designed box contains figurines, a cube, question cards and a brochure in four languages (Slovenian, Italian, English and German), which further enriches the experience of learning about the noble heritage. Designed for 2–6 players aged 7 and up, it encourages visits to and exploration of the featured landmarks. The game will be available at TICs in the Goriška region and at local tourist providers, and its goal is for domestic and foreign visitors not only to get to know but also to visit the presented sights, preferably by bike.
